ESS of Flowering Phenology – Model Construction and Analysis
Yu-Yun Chen (Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies, National Dong Hwa University)

Abstract:

Plant species can be divided into several types based on flowering phenology patterns, such as continuous to supra-annual flowering in terms of frequency, or periodic to irregular pulses. Among hypotheses proposed to explain these different patterns, predator satiation and disperser efficiency offer a good ground for evolution of differential performance in flowering. This talk aims at reviewing these forces and constructing models that integrate them for further analysis on the evolutionary stable stage for patterns of flowering phenology.
