Aim & Scope:

This conference is aimed at bringing together both established and junior number theorists from across the globe, and especially researchers in Function Field Arithmetic, Diophantine Geometry, and related topics, to discuss the state of the art in mathematics and to encourage further research collaborations in these areas. We will further use this opportunity to honor Professor Jing Yu, on the occasion of his retirement, for his fundamental contributions to the development of function fields over the past 4 decades.

Contributed Talks: We anticipate space in the schedule for some 25-minute contributed talks, to be presented by junior researchers.  Interested graduate students and recent Ph.D.'s should send a title and abstract to Matt Papanikolas (map@math.tamu.edu) by March 8, 2019, for consideration.

Travel Funding: Pending grant support from the NSF and other sources, we anticipate having limited travel funding for graduate student and post-doctoral participants. Priority will be given to contributed speakers. To request funding:please register here and submit a copy of your CV (a brief letter of recommendation is also preferred) by March 8, 2019 as instructed there. We will inform applicants individually about support decisions by March 20, 2019.

For both Contributed Talks and Travel Funding, we particularly encourage participation by women and underrepresented minorities.

Registration: All participants (except invited speakers and organizers) are required to register here by May 14, 2019. The registration is free. For those junior participants who request funding, please register by March 8, 2019.
