Opportunities and Challenges in Numerical Algebra(II)

February 3, 2021

Cisco Webex, Online Conference
Organizers:
Tsung-Ming Huang (National Taiwan Normal University)
Ren-Cang Li (The University of Texas at Arlington)
Tiexiang Li (Southeast University)
Wen-Wei Lin (National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University )

Aim & Scope:

Numerical algebra has been playing pivotal roles as the pillar of scientific computing for decades. Theories and numerical techniques to its core problems including linear systems, least squares problems, and eigenvalue problems are taken very much for granted and used daily in science and engineering without questioning. Today numerical algebra sits at the cross road of reinventing itself to adapt to a rapidly changing landscape because of the emergence of data science and artificial intelligence, while its original core mission remains. This four half-days online workshop series aims to bring you a series of advanced technical talks on latest developments in numerical algebra and its recent machine learning applications.

The second half-day will take place in the morning of February 3, 2021, and the exact dates for the remaining two half-days will be announced shortly. Please stay tuned.

 Invited Speakers:

Matthew M. Lin (National Cheng Kung University)

Junjun Pan (The University of Hong Kong)

Shih-Feng Shieh (National Taiwan Normal University)

Yuanzhe Xi (Emory University)
